Solar-powered water pumps for sub-irrigation

At Agrolink, we have developed 6 solar-powered pump packages for sub-irrigation suitable for agricultural fields from 1 to 30 ha. These packages come with a unique controller that eliminates the need to use batteries for the solar panels, keeping costs low.

If you want to use batteries for e.g. irrigate at night when the sun is not shining, it also works with the smaller pumps 2-17 m3, as the controls support the use of batteries. However, the panels should be larger in size to allow for daytime pumping and battery recharging.

All pump packages are delivered with:

  • Solar pump

  • Cables with pre-assembled connectors from solar panel to controller
  • Pressure hose
  • Suction hose with check valve
  • Sensors for control wells
  • Sensors for water source

Which pump to choose?

As a basic rule, you can start from the area you want to irrigate and also take into account how much water the drainage pipes can take. To help you, take a look at the table where we have listed pump packages in relation to the number of hectares they can irrigate.

If irrigation starts immediately after sowing, the pumps are usually able to irrigate larger areas.
